I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?

keys. I need to change my lock and ignition key to feel comfortable parking outside my house and school, (since they took my wallet and have a ton of info about me). So that leads me to my question, if anyone would know the cheapest way of changing locks or even %26quot;shaving%26quot; my door handle/locks out and changing the alarm system. I drive a scion xb 04 so it has 2 key locks outside. I need alternatives to solve the problem, suggestions and prices. I'd appreciate it very much thanks.I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?

Contact your insurance agent about covering this damage(yes it is damage) to your vehicle. I can assure you the company does not want someone out there that has keys to your vehicle, because next time you probably won't get it back.I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?
A locksmith can change the tumbler pattern inside your locks there fore making you a different key for them. I would guess for around 150-200I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?

If the door locks use a different key than the ignition, just have the door locks changed. If the theif came back and tried the old keys to open the doors, he'd think you changed ALL of the locks since he wouldn't really be able to try the ignition key. To steal the car he'd have to smash out a window to get in.I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?
you can get a sepparate key for your doors, but then you have two keys. its best to go to a locksmith and ask what your options are.I just had my car stolen and got it back yesterday, the problem is whoever stole it still has a copy of my?
Shaving the handles is not going to very cost effective, or secure. If you had very much stolen or damaged, your insurance company may pay for the locks to be changed. Make sure that the police know that your identity may have be stolen.
