Car starting problems?

after changing the battery in my electric car starter, the car will not start. lights were going on and off and the car was locking and locking on its own. it was also making funny noises. what do i do?! help... is anyone familiar with this type of thing?Car starting problems?
Your Volkswagen needs to have its computer reset. Make sure you didn't put the battery in backwards. Everything will get messed up if you did. Wait. You have an electric car and it has a starter- that's curious. No, didn't think you meant that I was messing with you.

The battery cable that goes to the engine block should connect to the battery's negative and the cable that goes to the starter should go on the positive terminal of the battery.

You didn't say it was a Volkswagen, did you? They get really queer when the power is interrupted or the temperature is extremely cold.Car starting problems?
How old is the car? if its older, the starter motor itself may be bad, or the starter relay. Is it turning over but not starting? could be frozen gas line due to water (condensation) in the fuel line. Do you put a bottle of dry gas in the gas tank late fall before the temp drops below freezing? Who put in the battery?Car starting problems?
If you're talking about a %26quot;remote car starter%26quot; which I think you are...you probably just fried the thing by not unplugging your CAR battery prior to installation. At least based on what you said that's the best I can come up with. Not so convenient anymore is it?Car starting problems?
Make sure all the cables are tight, make sure you got the right battery.

Kinda sounds like a security system that needs to be reset after losing power.
