When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?

I have reverse and drive for it to unlock though.

I have tried machining the hub, change the brakes shoes and the cable line. Last night i washed the car but didnt use the park brake. It didnt lock so im wondering if its the rubber boot holding the cable line

What do you all think? When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?
I think you should have a mechanic work on your car. A rubber boot won't keep brakes on. If the brakes work OK, I'd just wash the car with it in Park or 1st gear if it's a manual transmission.

You may have a rusty pivot pin on the trailing brake shoe lever that the emergency brake cable pulls to set the emergency/parking brake.

It's odd that it only happens when you wash the car unless that's the only time you use the brake. When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?
Lube all the moving parts from the emergency brake to the rear beakes. Inclusing cable, springs, pivot points.

I had to take apart and lube the cable and pivot parts on my wifes honda once , because it stuck. I fixed it. Clean and lube.

That fixes most things. Clean and lube. When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?
Stop using the parking brake when you wash the car. It is probably a bad return spring. When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?
In my experience if you leave the parking brake on for awhile the brake tends to stick. When i wash my car, the rear brakes lock up. The wheel starts to drag and make a loud noise when it unlock?
